Tuff Terrains Summer Chill Out, August 2010
Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th

J33P are pleased to announce a return to Tuff Terrains, for summer chill out event 2010. Tuff Terrains site offers a lot of driving possibilities and we aim to have something for all. Those who have visited Tuff Terrains before will remember the deep thick mud and large quantities of water. Knowing the way Bernie manages his site, we can guarantee there will be mud around for those who want to find it. It will be equally challenging to drive the deep ruts in summer conditions and should present something close to rock crawling when driving the driest parts of the site.

On Saturday, in small groups, you will be able to tackle a series of ever challenging sections playing "hit the tennis ball" on route. The sections will take you all over the site and will involve driving/winching over a huge wide variety of terrain, tackling features such as the pine wood, the Dragons Lair and some new areas. You can expect to encounter, mud, water, the odd bog, ascents/descents, slide slopes etc. On Sunday, it will be business as usual, a drive around exploring the numerous tracks that criss-cross the site.

If you are unsure whether this event is right for you please look at the write ups from some of our previous visits by clicking on the following links or visiting the events report page - please note, we’ve visited Tuff Terrains since 2002, we’re just not always very good doing write ups! Alternatively please post a note in the "Events" forum or send an email to the event organiser kevin.williams@j33p.org.

Tuff Terrains, August 2006
Tuff Terrains, April 2005

We have arranged for free camping to be available on the site itself for both Friday and Saturday nights. There will only be basic facilities available on site (toilets and taps) and for those who don’t want to be bothered with cooking you can get a full cooked breakfast at the nearby Crossgates Services. As we discovered in previously in the rain, Bernie has a very large and dry barn that we are able to use to keep undercover – there is a generator on hand for lighting when it gets dark. For those wanting to stay under a fixed roof, details of local B&B’s and hotels will be provided on request. On Saturday evening, there will be a barbeque on site. Please note we will be asking for a contribution of £5.00 per head (adults and children over 10) for the cost of food.

The event is suitable for all modified vehicles; mud terrain tyres recommended, although during August, provided the weather is kind, it should be possible to drive the majority of the site on All Terrains. Front and rear recovery points are essential. The cost of the event is £65.00 per vehicle for the weekend. If you cannot make the weekend, its well worth a day trip, cost for attending on Saturday is £35 per vehicle.
