The club is sponsored by Steve Fagioli of FTE 4x4 Specialists.
Steve started FTE (Full Throttle Engineering) 25 years ago, initially working and developing rally cars for various different teams at club man, national and European levels before moving into the 4x4 market around 20 years ago.
Initially starting with Land Rovers, Steve progressed to Jeeps when he purchased one of the first Wrangler TJs in 1997 after recognising its potential at West Wycombe 4x4 show.
One of the first items to receive attention was the suspension. Other areas include widening the track of the vehicle, body protection, winching mountings, rear bumpers with spare wheel mounts and under-body protection.
Whilst visiting the US to research items for the TJ, Steve met up with Rustin Smith the owner of Rubicon Express leading to FTE becoming the UK importer for the RE suspension range of products.
Since buying the Wrangler TJ, FTE has gone from strength to strength, supplying and installing complete suspension systems and assorted 4x4 equipment too Jeep owners all over the country including many club members.
Since 2005, FTE’s relationship with Daimler Chrysler UK has grown, firstly developing a Wrangler TJ for them called Ruby III and then a few years later, a new Wrangler JK 2 door for 4x4 Magazine which included suspension, front & rear bumpers (Rugged Ridge), winch, snorkel, & tyres.
Bringing the story up to date, in 2008 FTE imported a 4 door JK that has been extensively modified, being used as a test bed for many of the products FTE supply.
Sponsorship is very important to the club as it enables us to cover our core operating costs therefore enabling us to keep our event costs as low as possible, so please find time to visit the FTE website and FTE blog.
